Need help on 02' Viper

I have an 02' Viper with a 136" 1 1/4 ripsaw, engine is completely stock. I have already decided that im going to get the R3 Roller. I want my viper to f*ckin jump outta the hole. What kinda springs and weights and all that stuff do i need. I want alot of acceleration. I do not mind losing 5mph or so off the top end. I weigh prolly 250 with all gear on.

Also i need a complete list of all the parts I will need to convert this viper into having srx triple pipes. All help is appreciated.
 
wow, I thought it would be a lot easier than that. I didnt know that you have to have SRX cylinders. Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy viper pipes than to buy all that stuff?
Any comments on the springs/weights etc...?
 
i wouldnt put srx pipes on a viper.. for 1 as mentioned you have to get srx cylinders, srx exhaust system and have to do a hood mod to make it all fit under there. that alot of money. i would go with SLP pipes probably find a nice used set on here with the jets and clutch kit for it thats good for 25HP.. than i would have your top end ported for another 10HP i can see your viper having 160 HP with those mods on pump gas. and its 1 tooth less on the top to make a difference. i think the viper comes stock with a 22 you want a 21 tooth 13 wide hyvo after that, i think your viper would eat up the new mach Z-s i know the new machs are slightly heavier than the 02 SRX's
 
I want to get viper pipes but you get horrible gas mileage with them. I found out you dont have to have SRX cylinders, you can just get the Exhaust Flange Adapters.

I was really looking at srx pipes but i don't have all of the things you would need like welding equipment and the hours of free time, but it is a good idea if you have the time and the machine shop at your desposal because you don't ruin your gas mileage and reliability. i'm am not sure, i think that i might do it anyway just for those two reasons it is also a fairly expensive project 700-1200 dollars depending if you make your life easy by getting the srx heads and clynd. i know that this is not a project that someone would be interested in if they don't like to cut pieces that shouldn't be cut and bend things that arent ment to be bent an example is the chain case cover you have to take a large hammer and bash the side if it in to make room for one of the pipes but not to far as to touch the gears. Another thing is that you have to push the pipes in to the sled and find out where they are rubbing and then take them back out and bash that part of the pipe with a flat head hammer and then put it back in and find another spot that is rubbing and bash it and so on.... Also you have to cut pieces of the pipe to make it fit into your motor becaue the pipes don't line up to the exaust ports. Then weld it back around to be secure and prevent exaust leaks. and i'm sure that you will have to do some wellding on the pipes because you could be making cracks on the pipes when banging them in to fit. Another reason that could change your mind that made an impact on me its that you are doing permanant damage to the sled when you are cutting and bending things inside the engin compartment so, if you want to sell it someone could look inside there and see that and say what the heck did you do to this thing and it would hurt resale. This is not somthing that you could just put back if you don't like it either with out seeing all of the battle scars form the transformation but i might still think about doing it for the reliability factor and gas milage partly because i want to and partly because i already have the pipes also i am doing this for me not for the person i am going to sell it to so it dosen't hurt me as much that i am hurting the resale. I like the viper for what it is but the smarter and easier thing would be to buy an srx, to skip all of this and just put the viper suspention in it. There is also a big parts list like srx can and cdi box i am not sure about having to give up the reverse but you do have to relocate the batterie. :WayCool:
 
not so easy for me because I have over $4000 dollars in parts in my viper. I cant just sell it off and buy something I dont like.
 
Yeah thats true i wouldn't try it either i would try somones piped viper or srx piped viper first but i don't ride with anyone who has it so i would be the first one. if i don't do the srx pipes i would be doing cpr or slp.
