you can drill out the center of them and pound a flat screw driver in, not too hard but just to get a bite, and try to screw them out.

Use a cordlessdrill, and set it to a soft level, and let it rattle. It will break them loose. Maxdlx

Vice grips will usually get them out. Don't put the bad ones back in next time or they will be even harder to get out. I usually plan on replacing them every fourth or fifth time out.

Ditto on the vice grips. My second cleaning was a little later ( like 3,000 miles later) than it should have been. Had 4 that wouldn't budge. Ended up stripping out the socket head of the screw. Grabbed a vicegrip and ....PRESTO!! When I reinstalled ALL new screws, they were coated with high temp anti-sieze. No more problems!! And I do my cleanings a little more frequently as well, LOL. Good luck .

I just had the same thing with one of my screws for the power valves. I took a cordless drill and drilled a notch on the top of the screw. I then put a flat screwdriver in the notch and tapped it with a hammer. It worked like a charm. Especially when you don't have any vise grips. Probably won't work to well if it is one of the bottom screws.
