I'd go with pipes but with the factory tolerances you may have the one with minimal clearance. Don't peel any layers. Ive seen them burn down with triple pipes and a layer peeled. It's your call.

Peeling layer's increase's the compression ratio slightly. It's not a big horsepower gain. What's noticeable is the improved mid-range throttle response. I run 2 layer's pulled on a piped (SLP) Viper, a buddy run's his piped MM (also SLP) with 2 layer's pulled. No problem with either sled, however we do ride at 2500' to 7000' and that does make a difference. We dont have the dense air that you flat-lander boy's enjoy! Also have run good premuim fuel.
