anyone know how much boost a stock srx rod holds

Are you talking about the srx turbos that powderlites has?

depends on alot of things man, but from the math I've run it should hold at any reasonable boost level, BMEP doesn't exert nearly as much force on the rod as the weight of the piston at 10,000rpm does and I've seen the rods hold that rpm for prolonged periods without ill effect.
 
i have never had a problem with rods holding up to overrevs, its those damn skirts you gotta watch out for. lol ;):D :beer:
 
Worried about boost? I've seen a SRX/Viper motor rev to 15,000 rpm on the dyno with no ill effects to the rods, they're tough. If you insist on stronger rods, I have a set of titanium ones that are much stronger for $1500.

dave made one proto, it's the only one I've ever seen, never really went into production tho, there was a post up on the .net side back when it happened, never really took off like he wanted it to tho. i think it was a combination of volume and cost limitation that did it in.
 
i talked to him not long ago. he said i was wasting my time becasue the 4 stroke walked past it, but i still like my srx and will keep it for a long time so i may go ahead with the turbo sometime in the future. btw, here is his turbo.
 
What kind of hp did that turbo produce ? Near 250 - 300 ? Just comparing it to a Vmax4 750 turbo. It had around 280 if I remember it right. There is a topic going on about turbo Vmax4`s at vmax4.com

Anyway that SRX looks kick äss sled to me... ;):D

I don't think you will find a maximum designed limit for the rod. You would see piston, wrist pin, rod bearing or crank failure first, then possible rod after the one of the previous parts fail (cause and effect).

IMO, to get 200hp from 700cc turbo 2cyl you would need high boost (10+ lbs) and 100LLAV fuel or better.
But,10 lbs of boost on a RX1 4cyl maybe called low boost now days.
