02 viper....the water pump is leaking.....have you guys seen this before??

yes, some of them leaked, youll need the new little seal behind the impellar. I dont know if it was a bad run of seals or what, but once I change the seals, they dont come back. Funny thing is, I dont recall hardly any srx ever leaking.
p.s., some were just the cover o-ring too

While it is easier to change those parts with the engine out, you can do it with it in. It's not really that difficult. You might only curse a few times...

yea i personally don't think its worth the pain the a$$ to keep the engine in there while you do it. Pulling it also gives you a good chance to do work to it if you want, and at least clean out the engine bay good. Changing the seals isn't too bad though, i've done several and they're definately not the worst. Make sure you get some loctite back on that impeller bolt or you will be buying a new impeller, cover, bolt, and washer, and that washer has the most ridiculous price ever. Plus you probably have to find the bolt in the cooling passages.
