advance key on viper???

4 deg advance key worked great on my srx. will it work on my viper with cpr pipes???

would not suggest it as the viper cdi box already has alot of timing in it, it will lay down the motor on top end. The viper versus the srx is not even close as to the timing differance in the cdi box alone, viper is way more.

I have no idea as to Justins thinking, maybe he knows something I dont? I assume your gonna ride this viper on trails and lakes etc?? I wouldnt want that key in anything other then 500ft max. You need some amount of retarded timing in order to pull acceptable power on topend, and retarded timing puts more heat in the pipe too, thus easy over rev power!-more topend.

alright let em ask you this..i have a srx with the srx motor of course but i installed a viper gauge with it's cdi & wiring harness.should i advance the timing of it?& if so by how much.i have ran it about a seaon & a half with it like this

I wouldn't run a timing key in anything with a Viper cdi.

Viper w/ timing key

I am running a 2 degree key in my 780 viper and I really think it is hurting my top end. When Don puts it on the dyno after Haydays we will know more!!! Will let you know Tyler!!!
