I believe that with the stock handlebars that they will hit. Here's a couple of pics of the set up I've got on my Vipe. I've got a 5" riser with Firecat bars, using Power Madd hand guards with Rox mounts. With the low windshield there's enough clearance at full lock without touching anything.
I put the sport tech guards on my viper without a bar riser and
they hit the windshield.
i trimmed the aluminum mounting brackets back almost 2 inches
re-drilled and tapped the mounting holes and remounted them.
they work great and dont hit the windshield.
also they are closer to my hands and provide better wind blocking.
be careful not to trim off too much or you will hit the brake lever
I have a 2" riser with the bars tilted all the way to the top and forward. I can't see it hiting with a low windshield. I need to order the shield and guards soon. Who has the best price?
I have power madd handguards , and a stock windshield with a 2' bar riser and if you mount the guards in the very first hole so your hands kind of just slip in between the gaurd and the bar they just barley touch when you turn the bars all the way one way or the other , worked great for me last year .. i will post some pics tonight ,
