help with long tracking a 97 600sx

Have a few things I need help with before I start to long track my sled.

The basics to begin with:

97 Vmax 600sx

Using TracksUSA extensions to 136"


What I need to know:

What's the largest track I can use? SOme say I can only get away with a 1" track, others say 1.25"...Saying there is not enough clearance between front heat exchanger and drivers.

Do I have to go with extrovert drivers? or will the stock 9 tooth work also?

Track size

If you don't have any tunnel or heat exchanger protectors in there you can definately get away with a 1.25 track. Some say you can fit a 1.5 but I think that's getting a little tight with the 9 tooth drivers. 1.5 or more is achievable with 8 tooth drivers.

I ran a 1.75 in my sx with 9's last winter. It was tight, but worked alright. Had it out in Cooke after a big powder dump and it did pretty well for what it was. I'm sure it's not the most efficent way to move snow through the front of the tunnel, but I was happy. 8's make for a better fit with that size track.
