What does everybody wear for boots?

Trukke, I think the model is thundersnow II. Very warm, yet light and manueverable with great support. I have ridden many times at -40 and never had cold feet.

They are saying to get the Polar boot as it is a "nicer" boot. I liked the all rubber inside of the Glaicer for protection on my tunnel. I have scene a lot of problems with speed laces and torn seats. I will also make sure I get the right size. I got my HJC's a bit larger than I like 11's and I like a 10 -10.5. I get sock suck all day long and I hate sock suck. It's caused by boots being too largs and getting too much movement in the boot. OK, my 2 cents. NYSXR - Those Yamaha boots you posted are the same as the Altimate boots (Black hawk & Sno Max). Check out www.altimateboots.com I'm not sure what the dealers prices are on those two, but you might be better going with the Altimate ones. just my $.02
 
Trukke - best boot made. Warm, durable and great traction on ice. Use mine for riding, deer hunting and ice fishing. Had them 4 yrs and counting

This will be my 3rd season in HMK Highmark boots. Carbon fiber and leather, lots of ankle support, and very light. They are stiff to walk in, so it takes some getting used to. I can stand in the snow all day and not get cold feet - couldn't do that in my Sorel boots.

I had a pair of CKX koyuk's they were great right up untill the time someone stole them. Now I've got to go get a new pair.

i love my HJC's. get a new pair every two years, just becuase. they are warm and comfortable. don't even have to wear heavy socks. best $80 i ever spent for riding!
 
i wear sorrels with the long leather tops. good in the slush too
compared to that damn set of glaciers i bought
 
Altimate Snow Max.
Great boots. Aggresive and lightweight. Have had mine two seasons.
Very stff like a snowboard boot.
Excellent for the stand up rider.

I've also got a pair of Trukke Powersport boots. Best $140.00 spent. I've had them for 4-5 seasons now and my feet always stay warm in them. I'm sure there are other great boots out there, but I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat.

Being you have such good taste in sleds maybe I should follow your lead on the boots!??!

I'm also on the fence looking at boots. HMK, Altimate, and trukke all three look good! Hard decision! :o|

Hmk: because of the light carbon fiber and new quick lace system.
Altimate blackhawks: looks slimmer and lighter.
Trukke : slimmer lighter and pretty much won the vote on this thread.


I really like the HMK because of the style and lace system they use, but I won't make my decision till I see and try them all in person. Hopefully at the Milwaukee snow show! I'll try to post back with my decison!

I LOVE my altimates, and rated to -40. they work, are durable, and are comfy and light. like I said earlier, my whole family now wears them lol

You can't go wrong, others have said how much they like the Trukke boots too. For a while, Yamaha was even putting their name on them, so instead of yellow/black, they were blue/black.

I made my final decision at the Milwauke snow show. Before getting there I knew it was down to the three: HMK, altimate and trukke. Nobody had the latest HMK with the new quick lace system, but by shopping different places on the web, 200 bucks was hard to swallow for a boot. So, it would of been a slim chance i was going to spend that. HMK look very nice, kinda big and really pricey. It was down to the trukke and atimate blackhawks. Trukkes were lite, nice removable liner, but something about the styling that didn't impress me for the price of around 110.00. I tried on and was very impressed with the atlimate blackhawk. Nice styling, very supportive, Super light, very compfortable, removable liner. I would like to emphasize how important the removeable liners were to me. They are nice to have to walk around at the cabin and use as feet warmers. especially when the other guys track snow in from outside and you accidently step in the wet areas from them. The liners act as a slipper to prevent your feet from getting wet in these kind of situations. Also in the morning when it's time to go riding you have the liner on and just slip you foot into the boot and your ready to go. I actually bought the last pair that shade tree had at 108.00. This thread did help me alot with narrowing it down. Thanks guys!!

P.S. I also wanted to mention... beware if you plan on ordering off the interent. I normally wear a size 11 shoe, but had to go a size 12 with the blackhawks.
