Well, my title has changed 3 times in the last 1-1/2 years but in general I design and develop AWD and 4WD systems for the automotive industry. The industry really sucks right now but I guess if I look back the job beats digging ditches(which I have pretty much done in the past). I get to drive cars in the "transient" mode in the UP for about 3-4 weeks every winter so that makes up for all the BS in the industry I guess. It's nice also because I bring my sled to every winter test trip I go on, except Sweden!

Where do you do your testing in the UP. When I lived in ishpeming it seemed like on some weekends, half of the cars driving around town were test units.

I am an account executive for an NBC affiliate out of Duluth MN but I work out of HIbbing for our Satellite Station - Great business to be in if you like selling. I was a manager in a trucking business for 17 years before this - glad to be out.

Which DBMS and where do you live / work ? ? ?
I am a Data Management Architect (what the heck does that mean?) I guess it is what they call you when you have been a DBA (Database Administrator) for too long, and get into the strategic side of things a bit. I specialize in DB2 architecture and performance of Very Large Databases, currently on Unix systems but also on MVS/OS390/ZOS and Windows.
I live and work in Marblehead, MA. We use Eclipse for our DB. It's a pretty nice job, especially in the winter, when i would usually be outside framing or siding!

Property Claims Manager
I am a Claims Manager for an auto insurance company. We insure a lot of high end risks and specialty interest cars. I also am in charge of auto salvage and the total loss unit. Not a bad job but I tend to have to deal with people that have a lot of $$$$ and think the world owes then everything.

I'm a service manager for a window distributorship, me and my small crew deliver, repair and install windows in high end homes. It's nice, I get to see fine craftsmanship and work in diferent places. Currently going to college to be a mechanical engineer. School + work = little time to sled. That part kinda sucks but I get to make my own hours and we don't work so much on snowy days so I still get out.
