at the drags today the srx ran mean outta the whole but in mid range it is falling right on it's face.it's a 2000 srx.21/38 gears.heavy hitters,(not sure of wieght though)havnt played with them since last season.the heat was about 78 degrees.& im running with the stock jetting because i have always had good luck with them.havnt checked the secondary but it has a stock helix with a green spring, wrapped at 90.should i be looking at jetting it,rebuilding the clutchs.or what?????there is other stuff done to it but noting that should effect this problem.(this was just rebuilt as well about a day ago .it has got 2 runs down the track)i have never had this problem before even running this clutch setup.any help would be great & if you need any thing answered or anything clarified let me know

What are your rpms when you initially go and what do they end up at when the drag is over?

I would think stock jetting would be WAY too fat on a day that warm, probably wasn't making enough power to pull the usually clutching, and heavy hitters hit hard in the midrange. Could also be something binding in the clutches (cover bushings, helix bushing, secondary buttons, fatigued primary spring, etc).

im going to be doing alot of testing & tuning this week.but it seems to get up to around 8600 r's until about 150-200 feet & then just drops to the point a kitty cat can catch up & pass.also i got a maxximum orange spring.i got another 2000 srx that im going to be trying the parts all of that until i prolly find problem.even thoguh im trying to avoid stirpping my trail sled for this one considering there is nothing done to the trail sled.stock everything.

check powervalves, if you have just rebuilt, make sure they are opening and that they are in right side up.
You need to reclutch. 8100 rpm holeshot climbing to 8300 at the end. Sounds `like you need more inner weight & lighten the tip.

it seems that the problem cleared up when i put on other seconary from my other srx.anyone got any good setups with the secondary & the heavy hitters for 440 feet?also what could have caused this problem in the secondary?

could be a bad bushing in the helix in the secondary, weak secondary spring, wrapped the wrong way, etc. Check it over good, and check it without the spring in there to see if it is binding when unequal force is put on the helix.
Where you at kasog lake grass drags last weekend . if you where seen you run and have to agree with turk on set up.let me know me know if this was you i have some other things i think you should try.
