is it just me or are there numerous scammers out there in the sledding world? was lookin up stuff on ebay and came across a viper that closely resembled a blade?!?!?! this dudes got two outstanding sleds, yet he only knows oil, plugs and gas, yet goes on to list extensively all the stuff on the sled?!?!?! hellooo... i thought you didn't know jack? his write up formats are the same for both sleds, if you look closely there are a ton of errors in it!!! both sleds say only 500-700 miles?!?!? especially on these sleds, someone would ride the crap out of them being there so well built. on the blade he forgot to change the red windshield and the red skid plate, and red running boards, red boss seat, boost bottle, pipe coating, and he said it will climb any hill in any deep powder!!! uh, 121" don't do well in powder however much horespower you have!?!?! THERE ISN"T EVEN A RED WINDSHIELD ON EITHER OF THEM!!! i mean this is startin to really tick me off :o| #$%&* #$%&* #$%&*

I would be very cautious of buying any sled off of e-bay after all of the scams that have happened there over the past few years. But, you really shouldnt take it so personally that this guy is throwing a serious curveball in his sales pitch, just realize that you know better and move on.

BTW...the links you posted arent working for me.

that dude is a member here and has both them sleds. I remember the classified add for them..............

I recognize these sleds from this forum, plus he's had them advertised on here. Personally, I think he's legit as he's been on here quite a bit in the past. (Although that's not necessarily an indicator that you can be trusted).

you just have to be carefull on ebay, look at the feedback, i wont buy anything unless the feedback is 97% with like 30 transactions, i have never been scammed on ebay. i purchase all things on ebay 2cars, 1 boat and 1 sled, but there is scammers but they stick out 2 years ago i purchase my 98 vmax w/ 3000 miles clutched and great condition for 1300, that was a great deal

also be carefull getting e-mails from e-bay.i must have responded to one and a guy stole my username and changed all my ads to sleds that were scams.05 rev for $3500.took me 3 hours with e-bay to get it straightened out plus my ads were pulled and lost all the time i spent making them.if you get a e-mail go direct to e-bay dont click on the e-mail link .thats how they get you.

well there are a few of haucks vipers, but why all the probs in the descriptions like he doesn't know what he's talkin about, and why same mileage, and why so low? how do you know if it is this guy or if someone just took his descriptions and posted it under a fake name?

Guy's from illinois always seem th have lower milage because they always have to travle to ride.

Beware: Just because the sled is known, and maybe even the original owner known, doesn't mean the ebay listing is legitimate. There have been many scams where the scammer simply steals a sled pic, and verbiage from a previous listing if the actual owner sold or attempted to sell the sled. They also can simply steal pics off any sledding website, grab some verbiage, and never even have to know anything about sleds. Best to send the seller a question asking specifics and/or things that would prove identity. Having read a good number of Robert's posts in the past, I would be surprised to find few if any errors in a listing he created. Also I do believe he sold his original Vipers, or at least parted them out over a year ago. This may be different sleds, but specific questions to the seller should prove identity. If my problematic memory serves me correctly, Robert was going through some health issues about a year ago or so. However, I very easily could have my wires crossed . . .
