front heat exchanger on viper

how much work is involved in replacing the front heat exchanger. the reason i am asking, is that i am trying to get my dealer to replace it because the rivits continue to pull out. from them getting loose and comming out, the holes in the heat exchanger have oblonged. it is now to the point that they replaced them twice, and i have done it once, and we all agree what the problem is. i'm hoping they take care of this, and i don't have to tackle this one. what do you guys think?
 
yeah drill them out bigger and git the rivets that scew tight than pop like big trailor sides have the only problem is getting the right gun but a shop or mobile truck that works on trailors would have one.
 
i think they did try bigger rivets, and it was to late by then. drilling them out may work as well, but has to be done carefully, as you don't want to hit the motor or any vital parts while doing it. i guess i will have to wait and see what they are planning on doing.

figured i would get it out of the way now, while it's still 80 degrees in central new york. where the heck is the snow!
 
Here's how they build a sled. First they make a front heat exchanger, then they build a snowmobile around it! ;):D
Seriously though, it's a big job, which is probably why the dealer isn't to excited about doing it. They are probably worried that if Yamaha turns down the warranty claim, they'll be stuck with a big labor bill. Still it's no excuse, to not take care of they're customer. :ORC
