I was looking to buy a single place trailer and couldnt believe how much they wanted for a single place aluminum or steel trailer.They were all between 600-800.00!!I went to harbor freight and bought one of those bolt together single place trailers for 170.00.It came with lights,fenders,wiring kit,12" wheels.I put down a sheet of 3/4" pressure treated plywood and built my own salt shield.I have about 200.00 bucks into it and it works awsome.
 
Nice work, I know a guy that use to use one of them - he liked that it was a bit lower and a little easier to get on/off.
 
Locally we have hardware stores that have fold up trailer frames. Its complete without a top (bed). Measure it up and bolt down a sheet of plywood. Strap the sled and go. Pretty simple.

Like they said, estimated cost is $200-225. And the trailer is small, light and a great little utility trailer.


I personally run a drive on drive off, way to old to lug sleds off that kind of trailer.

Salt will eat the trailer, a galvanized one may be cheaper in the long run.
 
I have this trailer, got it off Ebay for less then $200 shipped. Works great I just got the sled out of storage this weekend and towed it 100 miles behind my subaru STI and its sweet! Just make sure to keep checking the bolts to make sure she tight! Perfert trailer for what I wanted.

I used it all last winter and so far no rust,i just repainted it because the red paint faded to pink so i painted it black.I'll use it one more year then i'll get another 2 place enclosed.
 
you can also paint the steel with stuff called por-15, it will never rust and its very strong, you can even paint it over rust and will never rust againor just some cheap truck bedliner stuff would work
