Has anyone else had trouble with cracked slide rails?
Last year i had to weld up some small cracks on my 96 XT were the frt arm bolts to the rail. 6500+ miles.
This year i will be REPLACING the rails on my wifes 95 600 LE, 3500 miles.
It has ripped the rails apart at the same frt swing arm point. Hers is not the long travel like the 96 XT. She is by no means a aggressive rider. LOL
It still has the stock set up inc the limiter strap length and frt stock. The rear has a Comet unit which works very well and was been rebuilt over the 7 year it has been in service. I took the whole rear suspension apart and installed grease fitting on all the shafts when the shock was first installed. None of the pivot points are worn or bound up.
Metal fatigue? Does it need M-10 relief?

in 2000 when i got my ml500 the rails cracked two different times. they were replaced for free by my dealership both times, and it was off its waranty the second time. also my buddies sx600 done the same and ripped the track they were replaced for free also a new track even tho it was off waranty for 2-3 years.
