I have reed spacers on the way for my stock reeds, if i buy carbontech aftermarket reeds, do these reeds still work with the reed spacers ?
thanks alot
Cory

yes they will work but unless your machine needs new reeds or you are modded the stock yamaha reeds will be just as good.
The carbon tech reeds will fit the stock cages

are you piped or anything? from what i am told reeds dont do much good unless you have other engine mods. i put a pair of v forve 2's in mine after the pipes and they make a noticable difference

thats not enough mods to see a difference with the carbon reeds. If you are pipes or have head mods dome or big bore you will see a difference. Put that money for the reeds into clutching or something else.

pm srxspec, i dunno if he is sellin them yet but they are the hot thing right now. i hope to get one from him, but don't know when...

a buddy of mine put some aftermarket reeds in his '02 Viper. I ran my '04 Viper S against his sled and my sled walked away without a problem. Both had the same # of studs and the identical clutching.

Like others have said, don't waste your $ on reeds unless you have other motor work done or are piped.

I have psi modblaster, reedspacers, different gear ratio, and receantly had the machine in a dyno so everuthing is allright but will i notice a difference with vforce 3? is it worth the money`?

dont go with vforce 3's definitly go with the 2's. but since you already have reed spacers save the money and just notch your stock reeds. if you dont want to notch them i have a pair that have about 1500 miles on them and they are in excellent condition. havent used them since i notched them. but anyways stock notched reeds and reed spacers work to gether to do just as good as v force. if you want my notched ones PM me with an offer..

Sean, you either notch or put spacers they do the same thing. You do not need to do both spacers and the notch.
The notch is free to do and has the same effect as the spacers. Personaly I prefer the spacers as I have heard of tha cages cracking after the notch.

Just be sure that if you do use spacers instead of the notch that you check to make sure your center carb floatbowl is not rubbing on the steering column on all the non powervavled triples. If it is rubbing, you can either install and srx style steering column (considerable amount of work) or just shim up the rear motor mounts with a few big washers. (cheap and easy) ;)!

I forgot to mention that...thanks Yamahaulic.
For some reason mine did not rub when I installed spacers.
Very important to check.
