thinking of changing from yamalube to a fully synthetic oil like amsoil interceptor--- does anyone know if it's ok to gradually add the amsoil, or should you empty the yamalube and start fresh? thanks for any input ;)!

i have changed to fully synthetic from yamalube and havent drained the old stuff. i would recommend it tho' since synthetic and regular oil will not mix.

I did the same thing last year. All i did was run it down a low as i thought was safe then added the synthetic. No troubles.

I made the switch last year and didn't drain a thing. Let me know if you need a local supplier for Amsoil products......

No need to drain it out - just start using Interceptor.

By the way - AWESOME name: "Millinocket Rocket"

I just sucked the oil out with the wifes turkey baster. Had 2 stroke smoked turkey for Thanksgiving.

Does the same info hold true for Blue Marble oil? Does anybody have any opinions on the Blue Marble for use in Yamahas?

no kidding-- next door neighbors. where do you ride?

When I ride locally I go from my fathers house on Highland Lake in Bridgeton or from my house in Gorham. I also trailer to Rangeley/Eustis fairly often, and usually make 1 or 2 trips to Quebec as well.

What about yourself?

I live in Scarborough but ride all over the untracked sections of the Western Maine Mountains, mostly off-trail.
