I currently use Yamalube. Question for you folks, has anyone had any success using CITGO -"SUPERGARD® Sea & Snow Two-Cycle Engine Oil is a low ash, low smoke synthetic blend which provides maximum engine protection and performance in air-cooled or liquid-cooled personal watercraft and snowmobiles" Bla Bla Bla.... . I read on a different forum that this is an equal oil to Yamalube or that Citgo actually makes this for Yamaha? Untill I can purchase my RS RAGE 4 stroke I need to stock up on some oil for the season. I can get a case with (4) 1 gallon jugs for $42.00. I figure half the cost of Yamalube.

You aren't powervalved, so clean burning oil isn't quite as critical. I have used citgo before in an older arctic cat. It is a little smokey, but not horrible. Didn't have any problems with it. Personally I wont run anything but synthetic in my sleds, amsoil interceptor for me.

All power valve talk aside you wont an oil that gives you the best in lubrucation so you can have long jevity and reliability, there is NO subsatute for a quality oil,I run amsoil i say this not because i sell it, because if your not buying from me i does me no good, it's because it just work that good and on my srx i can live with a mid season valve cleaning. just my .25 cents

blue marble?????

okay guys i ran AMSOIL last year and RECENTLY found a new oil out there called blue marble , do anybody run this type? suppose to give better fuel milage, LoW smoke, and almost as efficent as a four stroke,. its suppose to make the engine cleaner burning and coat the cyclinder walls better. i dunno??? anybody try is last year? or its it just a company trying to compete against AMSOIL? VERY CONVINCING !!!!!!

yes you can get it in the u.s., it was around last year too. Also just saw it for sale at the snow show this last weekend. Didn't look at the price but from what i remember its not cheap. Supposed to be good stuff though.

Ive tried yamalube, ski doo synthetic, arctic extreme, amsoil and klotz. My favorite so far is klotz,it was the cleanest burning,no scuffing on my pistons and smelled the best.Currently i run amsoil intercepter instead of the klotz because its a lot cheaper.I get a gallon of amsoil for 23.00,klotz was like 32.00 a gallon at my dealer.

well I have some info on blue Marble! The guy that started it was one of the guys busted in the ENRON case! I bought an 02 440 fan for my son last spring it had it in it & in the boot there were 10 fouled plugs! Seems to stink to me & the guys at the supply house where I store that sled! I pulled out the marble & put in intercepter I will learn more this winter, But several feel it was a whole lot of hype!( all the claims) It is a mineral oil from what I remember.

I have some blue marble I'll sell you for 50 bucks a gallon. LOL I got 4 gallons delivered to my door for 101.05. Thats really not that bad of a price. Maxdlx

i like klotz my self but if it's not available at the time i try to get some amsoil...i ussaly tell the old lady i want a couple gallons for christmas & that holds me over every year..

there's been issues with the blue marble four stroke oil seperating.........

Obviously I was wrong on the price, lol,Still thinking of changing to something better,I'm using yamahalube.

Does anyone use Yamalube? My Viper has 2k miles on it, and has only used Yamalube, but I am open to a synthetic, I hear so many differing opinions...

ya i just bought a viper and dont really wanna clean the powervalves that often. What kinda oil should I be using..

I ran yamalube in one viper last year and amsoil interceptor in the other. The valves were dirty in both after 1000 miles.. I couldn't really see any difference.

maxdlx-- is that what you're using for oil? how do you like it and where do you get it for that price? the cheapest i've seen it was $30 a gal. on ebay

Two guys I ride with switched from yamalube to Ipone (Viper) and Motul (SRX) and both have seen huge differences in their PVs. The Viper needed cleaning every 900 or so kms on Yamalube and on Ipone I beleive he didn't have to clean them all season..which was like 4500kms or so. The SRX was the same deal except it would go further to begin with on Yamalube without a cleaning...SRX's seem to burn cleaner.
