???

While some of the more casual riders may be ok with what has been released the ditch banger folks like myself have got to be upset or simply think blue can do no wrong. They are not going to have the impact that 97 brought...

How will a blue helmet on a black doo look?

Now a rage with the new suspension and the 15 lb wt savings would interest me.....but cmon, who wants the proaction now?

Doo 800 SDI for me.

They came out with the sleds I thought they would but was very surprized to see 2 new skids. I was told only 1 along with a lighter weight 4 stroke but not 1000cc, another big eye opener. Remeber Yamaha is very conservative and for the most part thats exactly what you are seeing in the new line up by using the same tooling as past production. I will base more judgement after I have driven and seen the New 05 sleds 1st hand.

I think they are heading in the right direction with suspensions. And they are making an effort to lighten them up. I would like to see the Vector Mountain a little lighter and with a turbo. I'm with you on this one Mr Sled, I'd like to ride them before I pass judgement.

I think this is a huge jump for yamaha new skids, shaving weight, 30lbs even though the rx1 is still a little heavy 30 lbs is alot of weight. This is the most all around updates i;ve seen from yamaha.

I'm new to this board and from what I have seen the people here are a good group. I don't understand, however, why so many are complaining about the new lineup of sleds. How many other companies are willing to release not only a new motor, but also 3 new suspensions in 3 new sleds? They may not be ditch bangers like many wanted, but neither was the srx that so many of you loved. Anyway, you may want to hold judgment till you actually try the new models IMO.

more of the same, blah blah too bad they wouldn't get back into racing, look at the raptor 4 wheeler, high performance bump absorbtion machine (purposely built), not a top end speed demon purposely built, aka the rx-1 smooth trails, lakes ect.....the 4 strokes of the current design are to heavy....2 cylinder 4 stroke 120 horse under 450 lbs they could do it...i think that the mono shock rear is a move in the right direction...looks the same as redline... when skidoo makes a 140 hp 470 lb machine...thats awsome...

COME ON YAMAHA PRETEND ITS MOTORCROSS !!!!

Well, here's what gets my panties in a bunch...

I'm ready to buy a new sled after having my '01 SRX for 4 seasons now. My three main complaints with the SRX are the Pro-Action, the weight, and I want a 136" skid. Well, no matter which way I go I'm screwed. I can get a new light weight skid but I have to take the heaviest sled to go with it. If I want a 136 I'm stuck with the Pro-Action. Or I could settle for the Vector with a new skid (not the kick ass, LIGHT, mono-shock with the easy clicker adjustor on the tunnel). Basically, I don't have any faith that the Vector is going to be any lighter than my SRX and I'm done with heavy sleds because they're too much of a pain in the ass unless you only ride decent trails. If I could get the Vector or Rage with a new the mono shock and it weighed the same or less than a standard Viper then I'd be happy.

I think Yamaha put alot of thought into the new sleds. They obviously sell more sleds to trail riders and lake runners than they do ditch bangers.

I like the line up and will try one next season when they have the test drive weekend.

I love my 500 and it looks like doo and yamaha (best quality manufactures) don't offer smaller sleds anymore. I don't like high performace sleds and have always loved my 500 twins. Yamaha makes good, quality machines but with no choices other then the larger sleds, I would go with a different brand. I realize they want to meet/exceed pollution but.....

Another year of dissapointment...

05 Sleds

Very disappointed but not suprised.. To not offer a 700 class 2-stroke is a big mistake. Thinking that 4 strokes are the future may be correct, but not offering your customers a choice is a mistake. I am 29 years old and have been riding sleds for years. My riding style is aggressive trail and ditch banging and one trip out west each year. I live in the Northwoods and riding is a big part of my life. I upgrade to a new sled every 2-3 years. What choice does Yamaha even offer for a person like me? I spent lots of $$ just making my Viper compete with the other stock sleds. So they leave me with no choice but to switch brands.. Oh well the Rev kicked my Vipers ass all winter.. If ya can't beat em, join em!! :D

I am a little disapointed I want to see a 2 stroke larger than the 700 everyone else has one why can't Yamaha build one too! I like the 1000 Rev I saw on here that would be a kick ass sled with a 159x16 on it. But on the other hand my Viper will run with the 900 cat easy and depending on snow conditions it will out climb it. Now that is fun kicking ass on a 700 but it cost me about 2000.00 on top of the 7000.00 that I paid for it in the first place. I won't make a decision on a brand change until I sell in 2 or 3 more seasons. My opinion Yamaha makes the most bulletproof sled on the market, something has to be said for that.

What about the Mountains???

Not one of the new line-up 4 strokes is truly suitable for the us in the west..Far West. I will not even consider a new Yamaha, or sell my 2000 700MM. I can not believe they have left such a large sector High and Dry. I'm ready to buy. But what are my options? I want a four stroke!!

I was also surprised to see a lower horsepower 1000. I thought it would have been a 750 or so. I was surprised to see the new suspensions. The sucky part is the insurance companies go by cc size, not horsepower like they should. If mother nature could gaurantee me a good winter here where I live, EVERY year, I would get an RS Vector. But, since she can't, and I go to the U.P. for 3 days Dec-March, and ride more off trail than on, and get stuck a LOT, I will be getting a Renagade for 05. BUT, I WILL NOT GET RID OF MY 01 SX700R!!! I love that sled!! Later, Sxrlar.
