Ever tried to get insurance for a 1000cc sled now a days. Here in Canada you have to have at least liability insurance to ride on the trails. When the RX-1 first came out most companies would insure it only if your had a vehicle with them. If you had a sled only policy, they said sorry your SOL. or it would be astronomical (around $5000/yr).

Sure the 1000cc sleds are alright for the higher powered sleds (140hp or more), but if you ever have to get insurance for the 1000cc sleds they are all the same. Doesn't matter if it has 120 or 140hp. One guy I ride with bought a two doo's this year 600 HO sdi and a V-1000. The 1000 was nearly twice the insurance and was half as fast.

After saying that, if yamaha is building a 120HP motor for sleds, make sure it will be reasonable on insurance, ie smaller cc's, (similar to what cat did with the 660 turbo), or talk to the insurance companies about re-classifying there policies to look at HP not displacement.

Wouldn't a RX-6 with a R-6 motor be interesting? :)

Good bad or indifferent it's the future guys. I personally am excited about the new lineup. My two big concerns are cost and insurance. My current insurance guy will not insure anything over a 700. I'm gonna have a hard time plunking down 8500+ bucks for a Warrior to ride it two months a year.
