I have a sx500r that was mine and now is the wifes. It has 3500 miles on it.

I have had alot of inquires on the sled. I am guessing because yamaha doesnt make the 500 anymore and its a good inexpensive sled for a young adult or new rider.

What it has....2"x121" paddle track one season old, (4) drives I believe its 7 down from 8 tooth?? for clearance. RX-1 ski's w/deep keels, plastic belly pan cover, custom built bulk head, custom built trailing arms. Rebuild front shocks. Painted pod, painted grilles, 2" handlebar risers...blabla.

What is used.... hood is a little scratched up, pod is broke in both corners, but covered with plastic, handle bar cover has a small rip. Tunnel has a few extra holes that were filled in with rivets when we raised it 2" but put it back to stock.

Okay now that I wrote a book.... does anyone know what it is worth?

why was the bulkhead modified? I would think that with the mods people won't be as willing to pay top dollar, and top dollar I wouldnt think is any more than about $1800-$2500.

I broke my bulkhead jumping. I found out that my front shocks needed rebuilt. After breaking it I bought another one and modified per the attach picture.

I bent my trailing arm, straightened it and then bent the other one. After that I took both bent ones and cut them apart and modified them per the picture. I am using aluminum pipe attached to a internal sleeve.

I would let it got for $2300. I would keep it for my son for anything less then that.

honestly, I think you will have a hard time getting that for a jumped and repaired sled. not trying to knock you or anything, just trying to be honest. my opinion, no harm meant or implied :)

Ya, I think your probably right. I just know its worth more to keep it then get rid of it.

I see vipers go for $2800.00 So I would think my sled should be worth more like $1800-2000. Funny thing is I just sold a 95 vmax 500 for $1500. Hate to think my 2000 is only worth a few hundred more.

a custom (insert ANYTHING here) is always worht more to the owner than to any prospective buyer. cars are a good example. pay more for a nice original than a custom one.even if the custom has 1/4 the mileage.
