I am new to yamaha and am wondering if I should run Yama lube in my Viper or use a fully senthetic oil like the Amsoil that is designed for power valve motors. Thanks
Definately amsoil interceptor or another good synthetic oil, better lubrication and most burn cleaner than yamalube so the powervalves stay cleaner and you don't have to clean them so often.
I switched late last year from Yamilube to IPONE. I just got the sled out from summer storage and checked the power valves. To my surprise they were fairly clean. I really didn't believe that synthetic would keep the valves that much cleaner but they do. As well as keep the valves clean I'm sure the synthetic will keep things well lubed and safe. I don't want to go through my engine bearing issue again.
I run it in my Viper. I ran Yamalube for the first season to break in the motor. I switched to Ipone the second season. I find the sled performs so much better. The power valves seem to really kick in. You will never go back once to switch to Ipone..
IPONE is one of only a few ( correct me if Im wrong ) that has the new standard, that is "The highest level for a 2 stroke oil is JASO FC".
Spanky's Powersports out of Michigan and through Kimpex.com www.ipone.com
