Team Rapid Reaction Clutch Any good?

I am interested in the Rapid reaction clutch. How good are they. and are they worth the money. I am putting it on a 2001 SRX :yam:
 
I have never personally ran one, but a lot of guys on here such as skidooboy and others say they are impossible to get right on the yamaha's. I know it is very hard to get good top end out of those clutches. That said they do improve a lot down low and in the midrange. I did some tuning on one on a ProX2 but not on a yamaha.
 
Your KILLING me here Mr. viper .. I just bought a used team clutch , i just showed up yesterday , Im not a top end guy , i have a 136 x 1 3/4 track and weigh about 280 with all my gear on , im geared for 100mph and ride 60% trail and 40% off trail , i know these things are not known for there top end but i thought i was getting a good clutch for my application...please fill me in why it is not ...thank you ...

IMO, run a A/C roller Bearcat. Best of all worlds, trail riding or racing.
You can buy the bearcat for $180 new, then buy the keyed shaft.
Plus helixs and springs are less $$.
 
advant-edge roller. bolts right on to stock sheaves. picked up 1/10th in 500' on grass. superior back shift & allows you to run lower angles for more belt squeeze. been using them for years & have had great success with them & not one problem. easy to tune.
when you get rid of the sled take it off & move it to the new sled - yamaha of course.

I just purchased a Team roller secondary for my 2001 SXR600. I bought it new from Hartman and Tom (the owner) was VERY helpful in making the recommendations for the spring and helix. Of course I don't have any riding experience on it yet, but Hartman's recomendations are based on extensive testing.

If you bought your's used, then chances are you'll have to make adjustments anyway, and will probably have to purchase a new helix or a new secondary spring. If so, then I would recommend that you call Tom Hartman (208-468-1073) and get his recommendations. Tom answers his own phone and is great to deal with.

I just ordered a Primary kit from Hartman for mine to go with the TEAM secondary, and I can't wait. Tom will ask you a bunch of questions before he'll tell you what you need to buy which I found very refreshing. I'm sure he'll share his recommendations with you if you buy a helix or spring from him. His primary kits are resonably priced too!

Hey Exciter , Thanks for the suggestion , Yes i have talked with tom alot , he has a little file me:) , he is Top Notch !!!he has helped me a ton , and after Going through all the web sites and doing searchs im still pleased with my buy of the team roller , looks like there old enogh now that people have had some time to play with them , top end seems to be the biggest issue , but the guys i have talked to ,Justin at bender and after your post i did call tom said if its set up right it is a great clutch and they seem to think they can get me close enough to where i can fine tune it , and the guys that know me, know that it better be real dahm close for me to tune it :) . Im 280lbs x 136 x 1 3/4 track. its only a piped and soon to be clutched 700 . its not a topend contender ....
