Damnit! W-Arm broke on a trip up north yesterday. Caused us to come home early. I just had the suspension out for re-bushing and inspected the W-Arm for cracks. Piece of shit (w-arm that is!).

Anyway, I have 4k on my sled. Should I put another stock Yamaha arm on it or get a aftermarket like Maxximum Performance?

Thanks!

just get your old arm welded up by a machine shop and add gussets between square tubing got my done this way never break again cost me 28.00 dollars

Could you post some pics of this? I would like to see where it broke, I use to have this problem with the old Enticers, they would brake also, I welded them up and reinforced them, no more breaking, but I wondered if the aftermarket one was stronger and lighter, may be a good excuse to upgrade to one, lighter and stronger is better IMHO..

w-arm pictures

Guys

I finally got around to cleaning some shit out of my garage and took a picture of this.

This is the way it came out of the sled. Totally broken. The only thing holding front of the rear suspension in was the shock. I had to ride it about 40 miles back to the truck once I found out the arm was cracked. I suspect it broke the rest of the way from the stress of having one side cracked.

i gotta do mine on my Srx but mine isnt that bad just cracked one square tubing apart from the other a simple weld her up will fix it and ill put in some gussets

WHOA You really broke it!

Are the 2003 W-Arm's any different in the vipers? I hope mine doesn't break in the near future, since I'm getting close to the magic 4k mark. Ahhhhh!

If you really ride hard,i would get the w arm from maximum performance.I rode my 01 hard and broke the w arm 3 times.I had it welded, gusseted with chromoly plates, and it still broke,my friend all have rev's and zr's s,so when the trail gets rough my sled takes a beating just to keep up.
