are they worth it? made a big difference on my 97 sx, but wondered beign the viper rods are different would there be as drastic a change? and last, whos rods are the best, most durable, best made etc. thanks guys!

i've got benders they make it much easier too change on the trail.I got them for a exchange for my stockers. If i didn't probably would of went with just the adjust nuts.

My aftermarket ones offer more adjustment than stock. I dont think it matters which aftermarket ones you use as they offer more adjustment than stock. I think I got mine on closeout from Hi-Performance Engineering. I dont know if you gain as much adjustment just with the nuts. Never tried them.

Just get the nuts from Yamaha or Max Performance they work great and are easy to use. I had the Bender TC3 rods and honestly they were not that great, plus they iced up BAD and the o'ring wore out. Plus you can not grease the Benders. Just my experience.

Aftermarket rods offer more adjustment than the stock rods on the vipers. If that is not that important to you just get quicknuts.

Personally, I would leave it as is & save your money for something else.
Once you have the balance you like, how much do you really need to change it?
But that's me & I'm still learning about these too!

I have it set at max weight transfer and wish it had more :(
why is that? last year mine were set to minimum transfer and it worked great everywhere except off trail.

the stock track sucks and I run no studs. but I am getting a ripsaw soon, so I will see what it is like with that in. should be leaps and bounds better :) and yamvip, I have tried everything full set for transfer and it still seemed to suck :(

i did the same with that junk track, let me tell ya something, with a ripsaw it was night and day difference.I had to load the limiters so i had a alot of ski pressure too keep the front end down.Out of the corners,i'd lift.Obvoiusly at take off,and pinning it at 35 it would lift. Now i have it right where i like it.You'll love the track, its like a whole diff. sled.

as soon as the ripsaw is on there you wont need all that transfer. i loved racing my cat friend, his skis 2 feet in the air, my skis on the ground as i wave by him.

LOL i know what you mean, my buddies proX2 800 setup to full transfer will stand straight up at anytime with just trail studs in it, but i was smoking him all day long with the '01 SX7R, AFTER i took the pipes off and clutched it lol.

i really dont get everyones obsession with brutal weight transfer. its kind of hard to turn with the skis in the air. it is cool for showing off in front of the camera though!

yeah the whole skis in the air thing looks cool but is quite counter-productive to forward motion :) if it was worth-while, drag racers (pro's) would be doing it ;) I just wanted to get some damn traction lol!

n2oiroc, I love cornering like I am on rails too much to have "brutal" transfer, just wanted to hook up some. lined up against dads vector last year. his ripsaw spun about 10 feet then just hooked, judging by the path he leaft on the lake. I would spin at least 30 up to 50 feet before you could see the track pattern. WAY too much spinning lol!
