I was thinking of painting my new woody aluminum backers plates BLUE before installing to add some color. I already have these plates. Do you think it will stay and be worth it or fall off fast and look like crap? thanks
I do not think the paint will stay on. If you want color you will need to get some of the plastic colored backers.
Just think about how much the paint wears off the suspention parts under there. Your aluminum painted backers would be gone the firts ride.
Maybe if they were anodized or powder coated they may last longer.
Just my .02,
Tod

yes exactly as Tod said, paint wont hold. However, there are aluminum colored backers, and they are powder coated, and those hold up real well.

ya you could anodize or powdercoat them, it'd stick fine and look good.

Even after awhile the anodizing and powerdercoat will come off as well. Just polish every one of them and that would look sweet LOL

powdercoating will not come off like paint, nor the andozing. Anodizing is embeding particles into the metal, powdercoating is a "flexible" paint if you would like to think of it as that. if you really wanted the color i'd powdercoat them. otherwise don't mess with it.
dojnt mess with it.... spend ur money else where..... at NOVI i saw some sweet 180 degree LED lights, lit up under the sled like neon under tuner cars... that would look hot on the snow.... 125 bucks for 6
