Here we go. I talked to Terry at Bender today about the Reaction suspension kit that was originally supposed to ship in eary October. We are going to ship in 2 weeks, we are waiting on Penske shocks, is what he said. I called at the end of October and they told me 2 weeks back then, waiting on Penske shocks. Of coarse at Haydays they said 2 - 3 weeks too. When I call in two weeks and they tell me 2 weeks again I'm gonna be faced with the problem of needing a suspension so I can get it installed to ride before the end of the year. Do you guys think the Expert X is any better than the monoshock?

It sounds like a problem with Penske. The info provided to you by Bender is only as good as the info Bender has received from Penske. I've been dealing with Bender since '91 and have never gotten a "song and dance from them." I would assume that you will get your stuff in time to ride this season. Its early yet. Be patient.
I gave up on them too. They told me they would be shipped before snow flys. Well, Snow has flown and we are very close to having perminant snow. I baught an Expert and will be installing it next week. At least the Expert is proven in a pro action chasis. A lot more than bender can say for their kit.
Can't be patient, only home two days a month. I'll wait the two weeks yet, but then its crunch time. Where did you get your expert Zachalyse?
i talked to terry the other day also, i am only waiting for the mount kit to install my mono skid in a 03 rx1, i think they are very close, they installed 2 skids as far as i know and were baggin them.they said my mount kit was ready, 2 plates and some rivits, 95.00 ouch, but does save me some time

i dont know why everyone is getting all geeked about an oem suspension (i am not sarcastic or bashing here). one of the first "major" mods alot of folks do is recailbrating their suspension or installing an m-10, m-12, or Xpert. but dont just to buy it cause no one else has it, tried it or tested it. you will be the guinea pigs, you will help them develope it. their problems are your problems. if you are not ready to offer feed back or understand you are helping develope this skid (or any first year performance part for that matter) you probably better take a patience pill and wait for the final calibrated one to come from the shops in a year (or 2). time lines are just that, estimated times of arriaval. shipping, calibration, parts, problems all add to the time frame. be patient, good things come to those that wait. ski

I heard the "2 week" wait on parts from Sept till May one year. Never looked back. Sad thing is there are plenty of aftermarket suppliers who have done almost the same story over the years. If it goes over a month, I look elsewhere.
been waitin on advantage for an answer on my clutch kit and other parts. guess what it -16c here tonite with a dustin of snow on the grass. i called maximim and dalton and got my stuff from them. he had since april to get me answers and i finally had enough of " i gotta ask jeff this and he busy with turbos" bs.

I know first hand Penske takes their sweet time on getting things completed.
They supply axis shock for ATV's also, I waited over 6 months for them to get to me... almost missed the first national because of it. I have to admit, they were not all they were advertised as, and their customer support was horrible. Never did get them right, and the full set front and back cost me several thousand dollars. Ended up selling them and running Elkas instead. They came through with the shipping they stated, and stood behind their product.
Nothing against Bender, but if their starting to lose customers because of their vendors its time to make a change.

You are judged by the company you keep. Maybe they should find a different supplier for the shocks so they don't get 2 months late on shipping suspensions at the start of snow season.
Talked to Terry today and got my deposit back. Once again the shocks did not come in today like he said they would. He has no ship date and no idea when they will be there now. I said enough's enough and ordered an Expert X today and it will be here midweek.
One good note is that atleast he is refunding peoples money. If you are planning on a new skid for this season I would recommend getting your deposit back while he's still giving them and go a different route.
He will not send these kits out without the shock so we can start getting them together either, as I gave him that option too.
I'm done with bender, just my personal opinion and I'm sure people will disagree, but there are plenty of good aftermarket companies that bend over backwards for you. Maybe turbo Ski Doos are taking all their time up.

I hate to agree with the yellow guy! But, "skidooboy" hit the nail on the head in his thread!

bender have a long history of being a good company to deal with, I wouldn't write them off over a single issue, they're not the best on everything, and they have made mistakes, but overall, they the stalwart backbone to yamaha aftermarket. as far as turbo doo's taking up there time, I can't fault them for that either, gotta go where the money is if you wanna stay afloat, and performance parts for the 4-strokes don't appear to be selling like the 2-stroke stuff does. someone might call me on that, but the numbers I've seen say that the average 2-stroke rider is more likely to be ooking for speed than the average 4-stroke rider. accessory's are a different storey tho.
long storey short, get your money back if you need to, but keep in mind that he is returning deposits, and that he's been doing yamaha speed for 15 years, and will be here for a long time yet.
