So I put my new track on and putting the rest of the sled back together.
I started to put my chaincase back together last night and I have found that my bottom gear doesn't seem to go all the way onto the shaft. I only found 1 post about it on here it says it is common for a few mm gap. Mine looks like its not on all the way by 1/4 - 1/3 of the gear thickness.. I haven't measured the gap, but I did use a ruler to see the flushness between the top and bottom gears, they are fine. When I took the chaincase apart I tied the gears and spacers together in order on a piece of string, so I know they are right. Should I be worried about that much space or putting some loctight on the bolt be good enough?

How much gap???
It is hard for me to say without looking at it but 1/4 to 1/3 of the gear thickness sounds like quite a bit. 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch seems more like it. A couple of things come to mind. First, you didn't tighten the set screws on the bearing on the other side yet did you? If so, losten them up until you get the bolt that holds the gear on tightened. They sould be tightened last to avoid "side loading" the bearing. Second, from memory, before putting the drive shaft back in there should be a spacer on it. That would be followed by the bearing (in the chain case) then the spacer, then the gear, then a thick washer then the bolt. Is that the order you have? If so, and you have done "first" correctly, put some red lock tite on that bolt and RUN IT!!!!

Thanks man, I think you got it right.. I did tighten the set screws first on the other side I'll loosen them up and see if it gives me more shaft... It really does look like the gear isn't on far enough.
I'm having so much fun this year, I've own my first sled now for 2 years all previous work has been done by the dealer. This year I decided to dive head first into fixing it.. and I've already learned so much about my sled that I never Knew before.. And thanks to everyone here you guys are so freakin helpful

There are two thicknesses of spacers. The thin one goes on the bottom gear and the thick one on the top. If the thick spacer is installed on the bottom gear will prevent the gear from going on far enough. This is probaboy not the problem but just in case.....
