I was wondering what risers everyone eles is using on their Yamaha and if you have ever had and issues with the riser moving on you when you ride it. I have and SXR with the 6" pivot riser from Rox and am thinking that i want to go higher but with straight bars.

i went with the powermadd pivot riser for the reason you mentioned about fear of the bars moving with the risers with just two arms. i am over 5" on mine and it is as solid as stock.

I did a 2" post and 2" riser on my 02 mm and didn't have to extend either the throttle or the oil cable. I did go with a longer braided brake line. I had to re-bend the curved portion of the the throttle cable (near the carbs) and run both cables over the top of the airbox. Lock to lock in both directions with 0 problem.

you'll need to lengthen all cables for a 4" rise.

4 Inch Riser
nben,
What machine did you put a 4 inch riser on?

Boondocker-1, read a few posts back it is a 02 mm. The exact set-up is a +2" chromoly post and a powermadd 2" non-pivot block(4" total rise above stock). The bars are off from a 1-m.....slightly taller, wider, and straighter across than the mm stockers. The cables are at their limit but work just fine, probably would have more slack with stock bars. The brake line was just about maxed out with just the 2" riser, so that would have to be replaced for 4". I would recommend a braided line as they won't expand under pressure like the rubber ones do.

If you want a cheap riser.
Buy a 1 inch solid tube (pipe with solid core) of aluminim 4X the length of you want to add in height to your bars. Cut it in 1/4's then drill out the middle just big enough to fit a longer bolt through. Voila a barriser for about $5 and 20 mins work. If its not clear I can post photos of mine. I did mine 2 years ago and have had ZERO problems.
