Vmax 500 tweeks

Buddy has a 99 Vmax 500 he wants to tweek. Does anyone have any tips about what could be done to improve trail performance without wasting $$?
Clutching?
Gearing?

use vmax jhons setup in the user clutching charts. i hear great things about this setup from those who have used it. it is goin on my sled this season.

I put a clutch kit in my '97 Vmax 500 last season, made a big differance. Putting reed spacers in this year, told it will help a little in the low end. I will post a reply when I go try them out.
