I have a 02 viper. The fuel pump froze, I plugged the vent hole in the bottom and it still freezes. It will start and run for a few minutes, then will just die. If I use a hairdryer, aimed at the FP it will thaw and run perfect. I took FP back off, disassembeled, cleaned and reinstalled. Let sit outside overnight and this morning, same result. I had to use the hairdryer to get it going. The dealership says there is no rebuild kit for the pump and wants to charge me $65 for an entire pump. Has anyone had this type of problem? Any suggestions?

 I just used pipe insulation that plumbers use around copper pipes in houses. Cut apiece the size of pump put under pump push down and put nuts back on and fixed. Any plumber will give you a piece or you can go to home depot and buy length but just ask a plumber you only need a little piece.

I would drain the tank and lines, and discard the gas (properly of course). If all you are feeding the pump is gas it should not freeze.
