an sx has flats, different cyls, it wider, has adjustable struts, wider bars, if you're not sure the model designation is 8AY, look at the side of the cyls, or the tunnel........... head bolts are 18lbs and the nuts are 24lbs.....start at the middle and work your way out, because of the 2 diferent specs go over it twice, if you're using after market gaskets, go over it twice after its been run, aftermarket gaskets weren't a good idea on that motor.

Both are refering to the Carbs. They have Flat slides instead of round. Easy to see if you look down the carb.

ok I look at the side of the cyls and the tunnel and it said 8AY so I got a SX
Is it faster at least or better
Does it even make a difference when you order parts

it makes a diffence on all the topend parts of the engine, DO NOT put aftermarket pistons in it, the pins are probably in the wrong place. The cyls have different port timing as well as no bridge in the intake, Bottom end is all the same, carbs are unique to that engine, it runs at 7800 rather than 7500, the pipe and the Y pipe are unique also.
Find a set of PSI low rpm twins for it and tune it for 8000 and it wakes it up big time.
