how do lightly modded mm's preform

Just gave a rip on my new Camo 144 and it is night and day versus the heavy 141 Yoko track. This was also my 1st ride without the transfer rods and the 1st impression was a good one.

Like Boondocker said, more bar height is a must. I was able to pull off 4" of rise with the stock cables on my 02 but I did have to change the brake line. If you do go up, make sure you have the newer steering post. I found last year I was bending the bars too easily with the added leverage of just a 2" rise, so a set of bars with a crossbar may be worthwhile depending on your riding style.

I noticed your offer to Steamboat about setting up a MM 700.

Does that offer extend north of the border?

i have a 01 and a 99mm700 and i have pipes on both of them and reeds and spacers and i can run with alot of the 800s and my 99 has 7000miles and running strong still on the 99 i have a roller secondary 3inch risers and some other lil goodies and there both easy to throw around. and the jump great
 
got a 01 MM 700 triple pipes 151x2 extros, riser, ohlins and tons of other stuff and it is awesome sled...the 97-99 msleds r good fer modding but the 2000 or newer r good for modding or stok sleds... my .02
 
I use a 2003 Mountain Max at work and I think it is an awesome sled for what I do. I have reed spacers, dropped needles, taped the cab holes by the handlebars so it only gets fresh air, 2" risers, machined the helix and drilled the exhaust (don't tell my boss).

This machine rocks the house when crashing through the bush breaking trail and going through mega slush. Gas mileage is awesome for a triple two-stroker...I have reached up to 233 kms without running out of gas. I added gas before it ran out as a precaution so it wouldn't lean out. It's not a crazy fast sled by any means, because I have been out run on the lake several times, but it sure is fun to drive and easy to handle. Over 10,000 kms on it without a single issue. I just changed the sliders and they didn't even need to be changed. My stock Yoko 2" track is starting to crack and I am a little concerned it may blow up on me this winter...if it does, it will probably do so when I am at least 100km from my truck in the middle of nowhere by myself.

The only thing that really sucks on this sled is the stock mountain strap.
