Does anyone know what the difference is between the 8CR-47590-01-00 kit for the sxr and the 8CR-47590-00-00? Thanks

Yup - the 8CR-47590-00-00 includes a new top gear and new chain for the 99-01 PZ500. The 8CR-47590-01-00 is identical, except that it doesn't have the Phazer gear and chain.

Yes it will - you'll just have a chain and top gear left over. I picked up a 00-00 kit a few years ago, when a locar dealer liquidated their inventory and sold out. I put that in my V-Max. Fortunately I held onto the leftovers, cause I just recently bought a 01-00 kit on E-bay. With the parts I had leftover from the 00-00 kit, and the 01-00 I just bought I can add reverse to my wife's '01 Phazer.
