I bought a set of bender racing adjustable transfer rods, and have them on my 1997 Vmax 500XT. It makes great power and pulls hard (for a 500) but even with me fat *** as far back as possible I can't get the skis off the ground more than an inch. I have the rods fully adjusted for maximum gap and the thinner shim installed on top, stock shim in the bottom. Straps are extended fully and front (rear) spring to max, rear (rear) srping is set middle of the road, but I'm heavy (240lbs+). front springs are 2nd to lowest setting as well. It does hook pretty good , 72 picks in the center, I thought it would pull the skis.....
P.S. And before someone chimes in with "you don't need any more than that for transfer..blah blah whatever....." Shut up! I know it's not ideal, but I like It!!!!! LOL
