Recently bought an '02 Viper and the previous owner studded the stock track with only 54 studs. Should I be concern about these pulling out? I would think that 54 would not be enough given the HP. The sled has approx. 500 miles on it and the track looks to be in good shape.

BTW, the sled is stock.

IMO - I would suggest minimum of 120. i ran 120 last year and am putting in another 48 this year (168 total). Good rule of thumb is never run less then 1 stud per HP.

yea that is way understudded, they will rip out, if they haven't already. 144 is a good number for vipers.

If you are riding in snow conditions, I would recommend upgrading the track to a ripsaw/hacksaw/etc. rather than putting more money into the stocker.

54 is a really low number. Ive got 96 on my Poo 600 and it works well. However, Ive had about 8 of them rip out already (sled has 5,000 miles on it), so maybe 96 isnt enough...

I got 192 in my 02 Viper and it hooks awsome. I would say somewhere between 144 and 192 should work out good.

Here's the deal... I plan on upgrading the track, but most likely not until next year. I'm not sure what route to go for this season, but will probably just add enough to get to 120 or 144.
