Thanks sooooo much to spartasxr for doing most of the work last night. I owe you Pat!! Good thing we did this really... not just because I now have a more aggressive and bigger lug track, but the speedo side bearing was shot. Dry as a bone and had a lot of play in it.
And today it's snowing!! Maybe I'll get to try out my new track soon!
Again, thanks a lot Pat!!

What is the basic process of replacing a track. This has always intimidated me a little.
take out the skid first, then the chain case and the speedo housing, then the drive shaft should slide right out, put the new track up under the tunnel, put the drive shaft back in, and then the speedo housing and chaincase. last put the skid back in and adjust the track and run it.... If you know what your doing in is isnt that big a job really. I did mine by myself in an evening, maybe about 3 hours.

That's about it. You also need to take the brake assembly and the emergency break assembly off. There is a piece written in the techical section of TY with precise instructions. Do yourself a favor and get the speedo side shaft bearing before you start. Call it preventive maintenance. Oh, and make sure you have a bottle of locktite too. This is also a good time to check the bushings on your skid. I had the bushing kit and we replaced about 8 of them for good measure. It's also really easy to grease up the skid when it's out on a bench.
In all, it took us about 3 hours or so... would have been less if we didn't stop to watch college basketball between bolts! LOL!! Shop has a nice big TV in it...
