Hey guys i was wondering how that Mountain Performance Transfer Enhancment Kit works? is it a good product? would it be better for me to just buy aftermarket adjustable transfer rods? i would like to get some transfer with my 98 sx 600 twin... would it help my sled and its wimpy 7/8" track through the powder?

Yes!!
I just installed it on my MM and have not been able to test it out but from what everyone here says it is the BEST $50.00 spent on your suspension. it gives you WAY better transfer, more ski lift, and less trenching in the powder. it's a pretty straightforward install and cuts some weight in the process. What more can you ask for? I'd go for it

im just worried it will make my sled handle worse because it is a 121 track instead of a mountain sled

Would you agree? im gonna go for it tho how much weight does it save?

if you ride trails at all then I would avoid it. handle terrible on trails. mostly a mountain riders thing, not intended for trail. money woul dbe better spent on a 136 extension if you ride off trail a lot

yea well i might be gettin those drop brackets from maxdlx thats why i wanted the enhancement kit because i would think you need more transfer if your higher up... will it just make my sled tippier with the enhancement kit? i mean its only 50 bucks and if i dont like it ill just take it off ya know

in the deep you will lift the skis up and out of the snow. on the trail, you will lose your cornerin g ability and make it tippy

i dont care much on the tippiness as long as its controllable then ill be fine

wheelies in the corners means you wont make it through the corners... it will be faster on the trails without it. you will have to let off the gas quiet a bit to drop the skis and turn. I had the same problem on my old sled (97 600sx) once I long traveled it and set it for max transfer. I was completely out of control and couldnt turn at all. it sucked. I wouldnt recomend the kit unless you were a strict mtn rider.

so would it be just better for me to get some adjustable rods?

heck yes! there is another guy on the boards asking about the same thing and he is trying to customize it for LESS transfer because he doesnt like how much the kit gave him lol! rods are the way to go

i mean is the rods comparable to the kit?

the rods will give you a lot of transfer but still be able to turn. I dont beleive the kit is even adjustable... you simply wont be able to turn and wont have the ability to make it so you can

Kit
The kit IS ADJUSTABLE!!
All you need are 2 10MM wrenches and you can tailor it to your transfer liking. All you're basicly doing is shortening or lengthening the strap by moving the bolts to different holes. See pic. The kit IS WORTH IT IMHO, IF you spend most of your time in the fluffy stuff and steep-n-deep!!

thats the thing tho i do go in the fluff but when i ride with my dad we ride trails most of the time but i would like to get some ski lift even on the trails

each his own, but ski lift on the trails slows you down a lot........ been there done that, even with the same sled lol!

thats the thing tho i dont care bout speed on trails unless if its a straight away cuz i like to be safe round the corners and go slow round em

The MPI kit is made for longer tracked mountain sleds. The adjustable rods do make a heck of alot of difference in traction and or ski lift. I personally feel you would be making a misstake adding the MPI kit to your short track machine. Soc

i guess but the thing that makes me wanna get it is the weight savings and that its only 50 bucks which is half the price of the transfer rods
