SX 700 with viper suspension help

Hey guys...I installed viper shocks on my 97 700 SX last year, I did the rears, and I also put the front shocks on as well...Now my question is, after I installed the shocks the sled does ride a hell of alot better, but is now real tippy and back end heavy, Im thinking it's because of the height the front shocks made the sled..Im thinking of reinstalling the stock front shocks to compensate for the weight transfer..what do you guys think?? Thanks for any help!
 
Did you also swap the radius rods also, as im not sure the stock ones from a sx are long enough to adjust to the length needed by long travel. I did the same suspension upgrade and i also changed my radius rods. I used a wide kit from Maxx Performance though. A set from a SXR or XTC would work also.
 
That makes sense, I did not swap the rods..It seems right now that the front end is the same height as the rear. If I put different radius rods on can I still use my stock trailing arms? Bufalobob The front shocks fit right in, you just have to open up the "forks" a little and it will fit right up.
 
if u take that mount that ur stock shock fits into off the viper shock will mount on up top where it is suspose to where u have to bolt it on from under the hood. there should be 2 bolts to take it off one bolted into the bulkhead and one threw the bulkhead under the hood

its part# 8CV-2376J-00-00 if u wanna look at a scimatic at the yamaha website of ur sled to see what im talkin about

i'm changing over my 800 sx to a viper suspension now. terret725 is correct. the '97 mounting bracket should be removed & mount the fork to the top hole ( ear ) in the bulkhead. if you compare the top of the sx shock to the top of the viper shock you will notice that the viper shock mounting holes are placed higher.
remove the floating aluminum spacer in the bulk head ear & replace with the rubber dampend bushing from the sx shock ( needs to be pressed out ), or order a new one from the '02 viper parts fische. without the bushing the front end will bind when going thru its normal range of movement.
same trailing arms but must replace radius rods, steering rods & space out sway bar.

Alright, Im gonna have to look at exactly what I did last year and see if I did it that way...Now my next question is, if I put my stock shocks back on the front, what will this likely do to me? As far as ride quality etc?
