srx600->700 engine swap

hi there,fried my engine at the very end of last season(coolant leak,mag cylinder).
checked the damage more closely this fall and realised i need cyl,head,piston and rings/pin on that cylinder,new that would amount to the silly sum of ~1600$(i live in sweden-we dont have your humane prices..)
so to the question-i found an -99 700 engine,what do i need to change-weights and springs in the clutches i guess,but what about the jetting?
i looked in the techpages and the needlejets are different,do i need to change them? and the 600 seemed to have fatter jetting then the 700 overall also.
has anyone here done this swap and what did you change in that case?
appreciate any help i can get,dont want to fry this one too!
oh-one more question,the helix is different to(45on the 600,47 on the 700)
how much of a difference is that?

You need the 700 SRX CDI box. The 600 runs a lot more timing advance...good for racing..bad for trail riding. Change the jetting. The 600 clutching is not even close for the 700...it was way off for the 600. Run 00-02 SRX clutching...it worked great.You can buy used 700 sRX carb racks complete for cheap. I just sold a set off a 98 700 SRX for $70.That would be cheaper then buying the new jets, nozzels etc. & replacing em.

thanks,ill try to get the cdi also-if i cant get it right away do you think a slightly richer jetting will compensate the "hotter" timingcurve?
im going to use the standard setup from -00 srx700 with the addition of a multiangle helix(51/43 i think it was)and fiddle with the rivets to get the right rpm.
any other suggestions/tips are welcome.

The carb calibration is not just jets you need slides, needles, and nozzles as well, find a set of carbs its cheaper than the slides, PM me a list, I probably have all that stuff laying around,
 
bugger..well u learn something new everyday,i thought it only was the jets and needle that differed,since they are both equipped with 33mm carbs.
thx for the offer but im not exactly next door-ill check if the guy that has the engine has the carbs also.

Zap, if he doesn't have the carbs just say so, the little brown trucks go there too.........
 
;)! thx for the offer,its true the world gets smaller everyday-however i have found another engine(600)that will bolt right in,boring but easy-kinda was looking forward to messing with everybody at the lake with my "no i havent done anything but syncing the carbs" sleeper.... :yam:
