Well, I am the high bidder on this sled on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4592452744
Im not gonna bid any higher, but what do you think of it overall? DOes it look STRICTLY race? I mean, if I put an airbox on it and rerig that weird *** radiator thing, wouldnt it be trailable? it does run on premium pump, plus it has that lubrication thing built into the sliders. with some minor work, would this be a quick/fast trail sled? how about reliablity? it doesnt look overly modded. a friend said that 10,000 rpm pipes are for race only i guess. COuld i put a set of different pipes on and still have it semi fast. Just please give overall info, the way I see it is 109-112 in 1000' is damn fast for a 600. I just dont wanna make a mistake on my fir...well third sled!!! Plus this sled is close enough that i COULD go check it out if I wanted a day trip. Please comment, wise men!
=cool smiley..

I'd stay away if you're looking for a trail sled. It will cost you more in the long run to convert it over. You'll have to do something about the pipes. Seeing the radiator there I doubt it has any heat exchangers. You'd need an airbox or you'll have real finikey jetting. It doesn't say anything about what gas it runs (I would assume race) so you would have to find a way to lower the compression and possibly timing.
It's just an awful lot of work for a 'first' trail sled.

Yeah, I'd stay away from it too if you don't want to race it. Problem is.... you are still the high bidder... 1 day left... you better hope somebody want's it... or it's yours

I have retracted my bid. The seller has not responded to my emails or calls about what kind of gas it runs on.

it has heat exchangers in the tunnel also...you can see them in one of the photos
That's strictly a race engine.

Even if he won't retract your bid, I think $900 is pretty cheap for that sled. Everything looks clean.

Cal,
I tried to p.m. you, but your box must be full. Let me know if you're interested in that '98 SRX. My friend is going out to the storage area this weekend and will take some pics. The owner said it has somewhere around 1500 miles on it.
