Has anyone experienced trouble removing the flywheel on their sled? I can't seem to get the flywheel off my 98 SRX 700. I used a balanced puller and a little heat. It still won't come off. Its almost to the point of breaking the puller. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you using a puller that uses the 3 bolts that screw into the front of the flywheel and is it a good one? l assume you removed the flywheel nut. Try hitting it with a fibre mallet(not too hard) of some kind as you tighten down the center of the puller. It should pop off.

I am using the correct style puller and the nut is off. It wasn't the most expensive puller though so that may be the problem. For the cost I may just take it to a Yamaha dealer and have them pull it off.

Good point. For the cost of a good puller the local dealer could do it maybe for less. Watch him do it and see what kind of problem it gives him. It'll be your luck that it will just fall off for him.

slp has a nice puller. although it you have a welder and a drill press it would be easy to make a super strong one.

I have one made by powerfist. It wasn't very expensive and is universal. I think I paid around $20.00 cdn for it. It is a three arm type that you put the bolts through and thread into the flywheel and has a large center bolt that pushes on the end of your crank. I think yamaha makes one which may work better but its probably expensive.
