holic, more info on the 900 kit? I just seen it advertised on hauck site, and all it gives is a price... what did they claim and what did it actually deliver??

Junior, got the chart...those things run some real impressive numbers.
I had seen two machs last year that were destroying everybody. I would say its going to take ALOT more than a piped viper to beat one, at least a well set up one.

Pat made claims of around 190 h.p. or so for that stroker, i've heard dyno reports more around 170 horse or so at best for the kit with pipes, i believe allen and don may know some specs on this engine as well, but not exactly what i would call impressive for a basically new engine with completely redesigned cylinders, pistons, and crank/rods pumping out 900cc.

There has been 3 reports of stock APEX gts beating Stock 05 and 06 Mach z's till 100mph..
I dont think a piped viper will get it done.. but it could be close... Moded SRX should take it..

Time will tell, i don't think 174hp is an acurate number. 164 maybe? When you start getting over the 800 mark, twins just don't make that much more power. That thing needs another cylinder!!!!!!!!!
THREE is for ME!

You're right, volumetric efficiency is lower on the twins than on the triples, but that is definately not to say that they can't put out that much power. The new 1000 is over 170 horse, and that is a true musclesled to be dealt with when put into the right hands of a good tuner.

My cousins Rev 800 will blow away a Yhudercat as well as any Srx. Hate to admiy it, but these people who are claiming they are beating them with Srx's and old Vmax's!! No way.

guys this argument could go on all year, and on most sledding sites it does. 90% of the race is individual setup. Virtually anything can beat anything if setup right. Now the mach has some mad power and is definately a force to be reckoned with, that isn't arguable.

well said holic, ought to leave it at that
and that is kinda low for a 900 tripple.....

660 feet? Come on, that race is only half over! What are you going to do for the second half of the race? A fast 660' sled is not a great trail set up. Trail to trail, the Mach is going to beat most SRX's and Vipers. Well set up or not. I am a Yami faithful, I have a BB Viper, and I will have my hands full with good running Machs. I think 1000' is a fair gauge on the snow. 660 is to short if you ask me. I could set up a 600cc vmax and run with a Mach to 660 if I set it up right. Lights out after that.
Take a good running Mach and a good running SRX, and the Mach is gonna win. We have several of them here in MI that run HARD. BTW, APEX vs piped Viper, pretty darn close. We did it this past weekend. The Viper had CPR pipes on it and was studded, the apex was brand new with no studs and the Viper pulled away on snow covered roads. To be Expected. I was on a decent running SRX, and both pulled away from me. Apex is no joke.

so you were running an apex hard before breaking it in??? I would break it in properly first. the 4 strokes get a bit faster once everything is seated and broke in

There are a few invisable tricks you can do to the new mach.My buddy put bigger injectors in his and a few other things which i forgot, but he said he picked up a lot from stock set up.Cudney is suppose to make a great clutch kit for the mach.

Bucky, Those ZR900's are dogs!!!!! I was at a demo ride for arctic cat last year and, f-7's were faster than the 900's top to bottom, period. Rev 800's are not top speed sleds, and not that fast. Bring your cousin's 800 rev on up to rhinelander, and we'll do a little proof test. My oldladies f-3 can hang nose to nose with one across the lake, and it tops at about 115 on radar.
If ya can get that 1000 mach up here, that would be cool, shoot some radar, and i could lighten your pals wallet. LOL
talking trash is fun!!!!!!

I'm callin you out bucktooth, wadayagottasmoke, something good I assume!
Ain't never seen a rev beat a 700 srx yet! you could run an old v-max4 on kerosene and it still beat that rev.

the vmax 4 IS a fast sled with a bit of tuning. I had a stock 96 and it went good, just had the worlds worst track lol

Thanks guys for all your responses, we have lots of snow but havn't even had a chance to ride together yet because we're on opposite shifts. He has to break it in first anyways.
