The exception to this is the RX-1 Mountain. It is mounted the other way. This can be seen the Yamaha brochures (2003, 2002). Do you guys know if this makes a difference? Handling, weight-tranfer?
i dont think it would make muck difference. if anything it would be better mounted with the shock body to the top, less weight springing around.
