I have found the Dooly's push a LOT more in the corners than single carbides, not the best for riding hard. They even state on their site that they aren't for better cornering performance, just to eliminate darting.

i bought one new in 97
i was wearing shorts when i bought it at pilgrim motor sports in plymouth michigan.i just walked in to look.hadn't seen a snowmobile in years because we got moved to tennessee (thanks alot Sea Ray!)i couldn't shake the memories i had as a kid riding the hell out of the 'ol merc 440 trail twister and 250 inticer.to make a long story short,i walked out with a new 700 sx.WOW! all the small dick assholes kept ragging me for buying a yamaha.funny,i had to stop and smoke a cigarette so they could catch up.nothing touches them on the trail,NOTHING!i beat mine hard for two years and sold it because i moved back to tennessee.so now i'm in CT and my buddy got a screaming deal on a 700 srx.so i started looking.i didn't even consider anything else.all i looked for was a 97 700 sx .well, last night i drove to Mass and bought another one.fixed the jetting this morning and i'm back on my favorite sled of all time.i have ridden all the other stuff but nothing compares to the late 90's yamahas.arctic cats are cool but i don't know how many of their rear wheels i have seen fly offand the colors are ugly.i have never ridden with anyone that had a polaris and didn't need us too lend them parts or tow them.ski doo guys seem too insecure to ride with anyone but doo riders.

97 Vmax500Xt ... lovin' it... Rx1 skis, 96 picks, .80 lug track, Bender transfer rods, Hi-tech ER secondary. Enough power to keep up with everyone along the trails.... I just pass them at the gas station ....

On a trip last year, I got about 11 mpg and my buddy (rambunctious on this site) got nearly 13 with his SRX. Didn't seem fair! But, in my defense, my clutch was on the fritz and I was running 7000 rpm just to keep up at 70 mph.
Clutch is rebuilt now so we'll see how it does this year.

You will be hard pressed to get a Yammy 5 or 600 twin to get the same mileage as one of the 6 or 700 triples, including the SRX. The worst i ever get on my '01 SRX is 12, and if you know how i ride it won't get any worse than that. Stock jetting as well.

Jumpin in the middle here but......Wow, all this talk about 600 twins, gives me goosebumps......lol
I bought a MM in 98 and still own it. Not a lot different than the 97. It has and still is an awsome sled. Still looks good, ride is great and has desent power.
We are actually doing a road trip into the mountains this weekend and my "other" machine isn't quite ready. Look over my shoulder and hey, I'm takin the MM.
I can always rely on that sled.
