ok well i havent taken the sled out yet since i changed the helix back but will the stock helix make a big difference on the bottom end compared to the 53/43?
Thanks mrviper, that's what I figured.

Results Of 51/43 Helix
so I got out this weekend for the first time
51/43 Helix with stock red spring at stock windup ( 90 actually, I mentioned 60 earlier on)
and it climbs to 8600-8700
I can be going 50mph and hammer it, it goes to 8600-8700
i didn't have space to open her up to terminal velocity, but i got to 105mph on the speedo at ........8700
so.....
should I back off 10 degrees on the spring winup??
and what holes is that. the 9 instead of the 6 on the helix right???
one other thing, i sitll have the stock track with 192 studs. I will be replacing with a 1" with "tall" 144 studs.
will this track improve traction enough to "lug the engine" so I should wait on messign with the spring, or at high speed, you get what you get with the rpm and I should adjust down.
thanks

back her off a little
yes, back the sring tension off to 70-80 degrees, thats 6 on the helix and either 2 in the clutch, for 80, or 1 in the clutch for 70.
Remember me saying "run it as loose as you can while still controlling the shift".
ya gotta go test and keep notes
