Not as bad as it sounds, I bought a vmax sx 600 triple this summer....last week we where pretty lucky in minnesota an we got a ton of snow (3") Anyways I when for a test drive around my house and my headlights are bad, very bad....almost nothing, so when a get back home i try it on the stand and the same even with the warmers. Now when I disconect the plug a plug under the hood right next to the oil jug, the light worked awesome, bright, perfect.....that is the plug for the on/off/warmer switch. I knew that because I couldn't shut it off with the key, now I don't care about the key I could ride it like that maybe but my warmers might not work....?
Well as always thanks for the info and for helping dummies like me.....

You're right, it's either the switch itself or the warmers. Check each for continuity and replace accordingly.

Do a resistance check on the warmers, not sure what they are suppose to read, but one will probably be alot lower than the other. Replace the one that reads lower. Also with the warmers unpluged check to ground for short(metal of steering column).

hook the switch back up and un plug the grips under the handlebar pad, see if that fixs it, there is a seperate regulator for the grips which could be it
