Viper Exhaust on SXR?
Does a stock exhaust from a yamaha viper offer any more performance if put on one of the red head triple yamahas? I have scene a few people saying that it is large volume.

There was a post on here some time back #1: http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=8116&highlight=Viper+exhaust
There was another one with a LOT more conversation and information on it but I can't find it. Maybe you could try a search and find it.

the only one I remember hearing about he blew the motor and parted out.
Never did find out if the cause was the viper exhaust. Re-Jetting would need to be done for sure.

you cant bolt the viper 4x4 pipe to the stock flanges. The Viper pipe has larger flanges then the SX. You would need to cut your flange and get a Viper flange on the can. Then you need to figure out jetting or you will blow up. Up to now nobody has convinced me that this adds any real power gains.
For a Junior guy like you Vmax600 I would not suggest this unless you are ready to spend money on Dyno time and pistons.
