it is the drive shaft bolt that holds the speedo pickup sensor on.normally i would say leave it off just added weight but you might want to know how fast you are going

I need to fix my speedo gear on my viper. Man you can go fast when you switch to 8 tooth drivers. I just can't remember to take 1 or 2 teeth off. Maxdlx

1 tooth for 9's, 2 teeth for 8's. i have 8's with 2 teeth removed and it seems real close to accurate.maxdlx said:I need to fix my speedo gear on my viper. Man you can go fast when you switch to 8 tooth drivers. I just can't remember to take 1 or 2 teeth off. Maxdlx

Is the hole cut through the entire length of the bolt? Why?

I have a theroy on it. It calls for locktite on the threads, and it goes in the drive shaft end, where there is no way for air to escape. If you didn't have a hole in the bolt it would act like hyralics, and cause problems. What ya think Maxdlx
