I'm rebuilding the top end of my 440 Exciter (1979). Can anyone help be out with what torque I need on the head bolts when putting back together? Also I'm thinking of doing away with the oil injection and running premix. Do I just have to remove hoses off the intake and plug the holes? Thanks in advance for any info. Mark

I torque the head bolts at 22ftlbs. Once the sled has been ridden a little while let it cool down and recheck the torque. With the installation use medium strength high temp locktite. My oil injection wasn't working. I bypassed it in the mean time. Run the small hose connecting the Y pipe inj line together. then do the same at the oil pump.
